Who I am
Researcher
I’ve conducted research in air quality for over a decade. In that time, I’ve authored more than 30 academic publications (first author papers: 11, citations: 830, h-index: 16) over a range of environment and health topics including environmental epidemiology, exposure science and intervention development. I was awarded my PhD (on using air quality data to change behaviour) by the University of Stirling in 2019.
Tech leader
I believe new technology can help drive action for the environment. At Trilateral Research, I led the design, development and delivery of STRIAD:AIR with Meath County Council, turning raw air pollution and health data into motivating messages. This enabled climate action by highlighting the health and financial costs of air pollution in hyperlocal areas. I was proud that we were chosen as DataIQ’s 2024 data-enabling solution of the year.
Science communicator
I speak with passion about our planet’s health to audiences from schools to national media. I’ve taught young people how we know what we know about the environment with hands-on sensor workshops, I’ve presented my findings in Parliaments across Europe, and I’ve represented universities and major charities in print, on radio and on TV.
